Covid vaccinations for 12 -15 year old’s
Some young people aged 12-15, who fall into one of the following two groups, are now eligible for a COVID-19 vaccination:
- Aged 12 to 15 AND live with someone who is more likely to get infections (i.e. someone who has HIV, has had a transplant or is having certain treatments for cancer, lupus or rheumatoid arthritis)
- Aged 12 to 15 AND that they have a condition that means that they are at high risk from COVID-19 (i.e. such as cerebral palsy, Down's syndrome, severe or multiple learning disabilities), or they have a condition that means they are more likely to get infections (i.e. some genetic conditions or types of cancer).
These children are now being called forward for a vaccination at specially arranged clinics being hosted at Loughborough Hospital, Leicester Royal Infirmary and at the Peepul Centre on specific dates this month. If your child falls into one of the groups above and you have not been contacted please can the parent/guardian telephone our central booking team direct on: 0116 497 5700 who will be able to support and make the appropriate arrangements.
Please be aware that only children with an appointment will be vaccinated at the clinics due to strict guidelines that are in place.
PLEASE NOTE: all other children aged 12 to 15 years will be contacted by the School Age Immunisation Service once they return to school and are eligible for the Covid Vaccine.
Shortly Station View patients aged 49 and under will be invited to attend the vaccination hub at Hinckley Leisure Centre for their Covid-19 vaccine.
Under our agreement patients will be vaccinated in a clinic run by Maples Family Medical Practice who will send an SMS with a link for patients to book their appointments. Any Patients without a mobile will be contacted directly by Maples.
Anyone under 49 wishing to discuss their upcoming Covid vaccination please use the Freephone number 0330 912 7411.
Please do not try to call on Station View or Maples direct lines regarding under 50’s vaccine queries (unless you are following up a second vaccine given by Station View) as we need to keep our practice telephone lines open and accessible for all our existing patients.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
